Engine oil is the thin, slippery layer between metal parts that move against each other thousands of times a minute. It keeps them from grinding and carries heat away. Over time oil breaks down and picks up dirt, and it stops protecting the engine as well. An oil change swaps the worn-out oil for fresh oil before that happens.
Your oil change at V-Tech Auto Services includes:
Anything else we spot, we tell you about, and you decide what happens. More on that below.

Red oil light? Don't drive on it. Call us.

There isn't one number that fits every car, so we won't print one here. The right schedule depends on your engine, the oil it takes and the way you drive.
Not sure which schedule fits the way you drive? Ask when you call. We go by your car and your driving, not a one-size chart.
If you've ever gone in for an oil change and left with a list of "recommended" extras, you know why this part matters.
With your car in the shop, our team can see things you can't from the driver's seat. When we notice something, we tell you what it is, show you when we can, and put it in one of three plain groups:
It affects safety, or it could damage the car if it waits.
Worth planning for, so it doesn't turn into a surprise bill.
Worth keeping an eye on, nothing to spend money on today.
If nothing needs attention, we say that too. You decide what happens next. At V-Tech, an oil change is an oil change, not the opening of a sales pitch.
We don't post an oil change price, because it depends on the oil your engine takes and how much of it the engine holds. What moves it:

Your owner's manual answers this. It lists the oil grade, a code like 0W-20 or 5W-30 that describes how thick the oil is when the engine is cold and when it's hot, and it often says whether the engine requires synthetic oil. Synthetic oil is built to hold up better under heat and cold, and many newer engines are designed for it. When you call, give us your year, make and model, and we'll tell you what your engine needs.
Old oil gets dirty and breaks down, so it protects less and lets heat and wear build up inside the engine. Left long enough, it can turn into sludge, a thick deposit that clogs the narrow passages oil has to flow through. That's how a routine job becomes an engine repair. If you're overdue, don't panic: get it changed soon and mention it when you call.
It depends on which light. A red oil-can light usually means low oil pressure, which means the engine isn't getting oil where it needs it. That's not a "next week" light: pull over safely, turn the engine off, and call us instead of driving on. Some cars also show a separate yellow or amber message that only means an oil change is due or the level is getting low, so check your owner's manual to tell them apart.
Calling ahead is the best way to make sure there's room for your car that day. Call (857) 417-1936, Monday to Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM, and we'll find a time that works for you.
Yes. Along with the oil, we check your fluid levels. If one is low or doesn't look right, we tell you which one it is, what it does, and whether it needs attention now or can wait.
It's a good habit, especially on an older car. With the engine off and the car on level ground, pull the dipstick (usually a yellow or orange handle), wipe it clean, push it all the way back in and pull it again: the oil should sit between the two marks. If you find yourself adding oil often, the engine may be leaking or burning it, and that's worth having looked at. Some newer cars have no dipstick and show the oil level on the dashboard instead.
